In Mali, Citizen Helpdesks are currently being planned in the central and northern regions of the country, as a trust-building and peace-support mechanism. The CFAs will work to generate validated information in hard-to-reach and insecure areas to inform analysis of the trust, social cohesion and community resilience of Malian communities. This information will then be communicated to key stakeholders in the peace process, including local power-holders, the government, and the UN peacekeeping mission. At the same time, our teams will work to ensure information about decisions taken is fed back down to people in these areas, and feedback mechanisms are in place to resolve disputes at the local level.
